slips, trips and falls on icy surfaces

BACK TO YOU: DON HURST

With temperatures falling, we wanted to remind everyone to be mindful of icy surfaces on construction sites.

No matter how well the snow or ice is removed from the jobsite, slippery surfaces are inevitable with winter coming.

Slips often cause serious injuries, mainly to the arms, wrists, back and head.

To ensure you and your workers are being cautious always:

  • look ahead to assess slippery ice surfaces
  • be careful getting in and out of vehicles and equipment
  • keep walkways clear of mud, snow and ice
  • remove as much snow from your boots as you can when entering a building
