At WORKSAFELY™ we continue to promote awareness about mental health.
Wednesday, July 24, was Self-Care Day. The World Health Organization says self-care is “what people do for themselves to establish and maintain health, and to prevent and deal with illness. This includes nutrition, environmental factors, lifestyle and hygiene. Whether exercising, eating well or taking steps to quit smoking, self-care is what we do to stay healthy.”
There are many benefits of self-care including better productivity, a healthy immune system and better physical health. Self-care also allows people to feel more resilient when stressful situations occur.
Self-care is something that we can’t and shouldn’t have to compromise on – it is vital that we nurture our mental and physical health and well-being.
Stay tuned to future Back to You messages that will focus on resources to promote better mental health in the workplace.
