Non-members $183.75This half-day course is designed for those individuals who are planning, supervising or doing the work. Safety of the workforce is the primary goal.
After completing the course, you should be able to:
- Recognize the hazards associated with trenching and excavating and how to control them by administrative, engineering or personal protective measures.
- Know how to contact MB Hydro and other utility line owners for locates.
- Be able to refer to the applicable legislation regarding trenching and excavating.
- Know what type of protective structure (shoring) will work to protect your workers.
- Know how to determine if the excavation/trench is a confined space and what precautions to take.
- Be able to recognize soil changes in trenches/excavation.

Emergency First Aid - Level C Emergency First Aid - Level C

Training provided by Response Ready Inc.
Emergency First Aid Level C is a fast-paced and extensive 1-day course that delivers proven methods for providing basic, urgent assistance to injured or ill adults, children and infants. Through a combination of instruction, demonstration, and hands-on practice, participants will learn how to determine the severity of a patient's condition and practice safe intervention when providing them with emergency support.
This course is aimed at lay rescuers or employees who are required to receive 8 hours or less of emergency or basic first aid instruction/practice as stipulated by provincial or federal health & safety regulations.

Safety Committee/Representative Safety Committee/Representative

Non-members $183.75This course is designed for Safety Committee participants to help ensure they realize the important scope of their safety and health role, and the imperatives of supporting partnership in the workplace.
The program will define the role of the committee, employer, and workers. Participants will learn how to handle safety and health concerns brought to the committee, also how to find the information needed from the Workplace Safety and Health Act, Workplace Safety and Health Regulation MR217/2006.

Non-members $183.75An incident investigation system is one of the primary tools for identifying preventative solutions after an incident has occurred. The results of incident investigations can provide a basis for determining the likelihood of recurrence and for assessing potential severity. Such investigations also provide valuable information to assist in the development of effective controls to prevent future incidents.
Participants will learn how to conduct an incident investigation, understand the immediate and root causes of incidents, as well as how to complete incident reports.
This course focuses on the investigation process, and how the collected information may be used to explain what happened.

Disability Management Program Disability Management Program

Non-members $183.75This course is designed for companies that understand their responsibilities when it comes to duty to accommodate with injured workers.
The course will go through all of the possibilities when it comes to WCB, MPI, and Short/Long Term Disability (STD/LTD). Easy to difficult cases, and what your rights are, as an employer.
This course will show you not only what you need to do and why you need to do it, but also how to do it.

Both practical and theoretical methods will be utilized by the students in an attempt to standardize practices across Manitoba. Participants will understand the roles and responsibilities of a Traffic Control Coordinator, as well as review applicable regulations and standards.
*Flagperson training is a prerequisite.
