October 10th is World Mental Health Day, a day for mental-health awareness sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO). Their goal is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health.
I think we can all agree the COVID-19 pandemic has challenged our mental health, in daily life and at work in the heavy construction industry.
Here are 5 simple ways to better support mental-health awareness:
- Language matters; take a minute to think before you speak
- Educate yourself
- Listen and ask
- Talk about it
- And always be kind
