Manitoba Women in Trades Conference

The MHCA and the WORKSAFELYTM Program are pleased to be working with other organizations in the construction industry to support the Manitoba Women in Trades Conference, being hosted by the Manitoba Construction Sector Council at the Victoria Inn Hotel & Conference Centre in Winnipeg on February 18-19th.

The conference is intended to promote the employment of women in the Manitoba construction industry. The conference hopes to encourage women working, or who are thinking of careers, in the industry, and connect them with employers, superintendents, project managers and human resource personnel. The conference hopes to identify ways to recruit, retain and support women in trades.

Day 2 of the conference, MHCA’s Vice-Chair Nicole Chabot, of L. Chabot Enterprises Ltd., and Colleen Munro, of Hugh Munro Construction and a former MHCA Chair, will lead a workshop focusing on the challenges of women in construction, and how best to survive and succeed in the industry.
